Not a good day :(

Today I found out that my neighbors are at their wits end with Jack's separation anxiety induced crying and howling. I can totally understand how horrible it must be to hear a dog crying all day long. But for me I just feel so badly for my little guy - and I have to think can't they just turn on some music until he kicks this habit! I have resorted to getting a "pet safe basic bark control" collar. It gives him a tiny static shock when he barks. It sounds horrible, but it does not hurt him, just annoys him. We will have to see if it works. I am also planning on hiring a dog walker that can really tire him out so that he sleeps most of the afternoon. Anyone have any tips for a dog with separation anxiety?
